Database of public government documents now available, Secretary of State announces

MADISON, Wis (CIVIC MEDIA) – Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski announced the launch of a free online database of public government documents Monday as part of the office’s efforts to promote government transparency.

The new program can be utilized here. According to a news release from the secretary’s office, it delivers on the public’s right to know and access public government documents. Secretary Godlewski mentioned the database as a method of holding the government accountable in a statement:

For the first time, anyone with internet access can search, review, and download official public records like oaths of office, executive orders, and pardons—all in one place and at no cost. This is about making the government more open and accountable to the people it serves.
